Indian Lakes CEF

2019 Summer Missionaries

Each summer, CEF Indian Lakes Chapter hires and trains teenagers to teach 5-Day Clubs®, tell the Gospel at county fairs, be camp counselors and so much more! This year, we are blessed to have six teenage summer missionaries from many of our communities. Each teen has successfully completed Christian Youth in Action® (CYIA™), a one-week training which equips the teenagers to teach 5-Day Clubs. For more info on CYIA, click here.

Q: What has been the most valuable thing you have learned at CYIA?

A: I have learned that friends are God’s way of taking care of us. I have met some amazing people here at CYIA!

Q: If you could have dinner with anyone from history, who would it be and why?

A: I would have dinner with Adam so I could ask him why he listened to Eve.

Elyse

Q: What has been the most valuable thing you have learned at CYIA?

A: how to share stories and the Gospel with kids. I now know that I am apart of a family full of Christian teenagers!

Q: What is your favorite Bible verse?

A: Colossians 4:5 which says, “Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time.”

Donna

Second year missionary

Q: What has been the most valuable thing you have learned at CYIA?

A: How to trust God’s plan no matter what. A lot of time you try to do your own thing and it never works out!

Q: What food could you never bring yourself to eat?

A: Sardines, they are super slimy and sound gross.

Laurey

First year missionary

Q: What has been the most valuable thing you have learned at CYIA?

A: How to teach others the Gospel and how to make close friends!

Q: What fictional character do you wish you could meet?

A: Daphne from Scooby-Doo. They work so well together as a team and it would be cool to meet her and see how she feels she fits into the team. It’s still a mystery to me.

Marie

Second year missionary

Q: What has been the most valuable thing you have learned at CYIA?

A: That you should never under-estimate the importance of prayer.

Q: If you could shop for free at one store, which one would you choose and why?

A: Kohl’s because it overs all kinds of brands and types of clothing. It’s the best all in one store!

Cooper

First year missionary

Q: What has been the most valuable thing you have learned at CYIA?

A: I have really enjoyed learning how to teach the mission story of Hutson Taylor and his adventures and work in China. It is an amazing story.

Q: If you could time travel, where would you go and why?

A: I would love to go back and see the Battle of Gettysburg. I love history and learning about the Civil War.
